McLean Lake Rainbow Fishing Yukon
Given my weekend would involve sodding a lawn I decided to head out to McLean Lake in my new fishing kayak. What a great choice to make!  Once again a paddle starting at 8pm did not get me home until 1:30am...but was it worth it.  McLean was beautiful, calm, and fish rising like crazy. I am not talk just any kind of crazy but an insane feeding frenzy that lasted hours.  Fish were jumping and thrashing in the water all over the place. I tried fishing dries with little Klinkhammers and other patterns with strike indicators.  Next, I tried fishing within the first foot of the water colunm with light scuds, gnats, royal wulfs and eventually woolly buggers.  They all caught fish.  Most were very small 6-8 inches, but a few got a little bigger. There were a ton of fish moving for food so catching them was not the problem, it was just trying to get into the bigger ones that proved difficult.  It was a stellar night and my investment into my fishing kayak was again proven to be a good decision.
