Yukon Kayak fishing with gadgets

Have not had the fishing kayak out for a while (bloody car in the shop again!!!) so called Kalin and we took off for a late night paddle at Jackson Lake. A fresh, cold night with a bit of rain, but still generally comfortable. There had been so much rain over the last few days that I figured there was alot of food in the system for the fish. There were a couple of other reasons for getting out.  Kalin wanted to try out his new fish finder and I wanted to hit a geocache that was located at Jackson Lake.  We paddled in from the main lake and I had a couple of little fish hit my fly in the narrows.  They were very small but nevertheless hooked into them on the dry fly.  We then paddled over to where the creek enters the lake. We fished for a bit and then tried our luck at the geocache. Finding that right away we hopped back into our boats and continued to fish the creek. At one point I felt I had a couple small fish hit my fly.  I laid my rod in my lap to adjust something on my boat and whammo…a huge take that pulled all my slack from my lap but snapped the line. I think that my knot was weak but this was my big chance all night…that I promptly blew.  Nothing else to report, except that you could see your breath it was so cold.
